One-to-One Peer Support Volunteer

In this meaningful role, you will provide compassionate peer support over the phone to individuals navigating emotional challenges of grief. Your empathy and genuine understanding will help create a safe and welcoming space where they can openly share their feelings and memories, finding comfort in the process. Please note this is not a counselling role.

Qualifications and Requirements

– Must be 18+ with lived experience of death-related loss and healing;
– Access to a personal phone with a calling plan is required;
– A minimum 1-year commitment and minimum 2 hours per month is preferred;
– A background in Social Work, Counselling, Psychology, Thanatology, Mental Health, or related disciplines is preferred;
– An ability to demonstrate compassion, inclusivity, authenticity, adaptability, non-judgment, resiliency, effective communication, and self-management;
– A Vulnerable Sector Police Check will be required prior to volunteering;
– Must commit to an online volunteer training if selected as a successful applicant
