Volunteers will assist customer service duties at the Jackpot City entrance / foyer area and in the Bingo area.
Jackpot City is located at 140 Edward Street, St. Thomas Ontario.
All volunteers assisting at Jackpot City must follow these guidelines which are a combination of the organizational guidelines of Bereaved Families of Ontario – Southwest Region (BFO-SW) and those of Jackpot City.
Provincial Health Guidelines will be followed for attendees, volunteers and staff.
It is recommended that all volunteers are double vaccinated.
Individuals may provide their own personal protective equipment unless requested. BFO SW will provide personal protective equipment, or reimbursement for the purchase of such equipment, upon request. Any expenditure on such equipment must be pre-approved.
You must review the OCGA Accessible Customer Service Training – AODA information package for Volunteers in cGaming Sites. If you have not reviewed this document within the last 6 months please review it again. Click here to see the AODA document.
An additional online training course (45 minutes) will need to be completed before doing a shift. (Link will be provided later in process.)
You must wear a collared shirt, black pants and dark shoes. We will provide you with a golf shirt with a Bereaved Families logo that you must wear.
We recommend bringing a sweater or light jacket along in case the volunteer area is cold.
Please otherwise limit personal items brought with you.
There may be a Community Gaming button for you to wear during your shift – please save it and wear it again at future shifts.
Please plan to arrive 15 minutes before your shift at the Jackpot City location.
Be sure to sign in using the Volunteer Binder on the table at the back entrance. Notes on how your shift went, suggested improvements are welcome.
Volunteer assignments are 2 hours each.
You must volunteer for your shift on your own – no bringing a friend or other individual with you (unless they are also a registered volunteer). You are welcome to bring a book, crossword or other unobtrusive activity to do during extended quiet times should they occur.
If you are unable to attend your shift and you are able to provide notice of more than 3 business days please email [email protected].
Please know we very much appreciate your support with covering Jackpot City shifts! The funds we receive from Jackpot City play a critical role in funding our programs and supports.
