Peer Support Services (January 2024 - June 2024)

As humans, we will all experience grief and loss. However, today’s fast-paced and highly fragmented society has often been dubbed “grief illiterate”. Peer support has been shown to foster adaptation to loss and to assist in combating isolation for bereaved. Bereaved Families of Ontario-Southwest is dedicated to bereavement support through self-help, mutual aid, and education.

Below is a list of our current peer support programs. Please note: we do not provide crisis support or therapy. Our facilitators are trained peer support volunteers who have experienced loss themselves, and can offer compassion, empathy, and a listening ear. Our goal is to create a safe and supportive space where individuals can share their experiences and feelings. If you need immediate crisis support, please call Reach Out at 519-433-2023.
